FLAME ROASTED PEPPERS
We set up Casa Castellon to spread the joy that can be experienced from roast peppers. Maria roasts the peppers in a traditional Spanish way over a naked flame before preserving them in olive oil or wine. The oil becomes infused with the flavour of the pepper.
Roast peppers have a soft, succulent texture and will enhance flavour in many dishes. Try them on their own, as a canapé, on pizza in salads or sandwiches. When you have finished the peppers add the oil to stews, sauces or salads.
RELISHES AND CHUTNEYS
We have expanded our range of savoury products to include relishes and chutneys. Our aubergine relish is great in sandwiches or as an accompaniment to barbecue food. It has a fresh spicy flavour without being “hot”.
Our chutneys are lovely with cheese but customers tell us they also use them as a base for other dishes. We are always looking for new and interesting recipes to try.
We have an ever expanding range of jams and marmalades, from rhubarb to grapefruit to pumpkin! As well as being delicious on toast try them with yogurt or with fruit and cream... mmm!
